Minutes of October 7, 1996 Selectmen Meeting
Selectmen Present: Judith Murdoch; Charles Flynn; Peter Jones and
Catherine Kuchinski as Chair with Joseph Nugent, Executive
Secretary to the Board of Selectmen.
I. Open: Kuchinski called the meeting to order at 7:05pm at the
Selectmen's table at Town Meeting being held in the auditorium of
the Whitman-Hanson Regional High School.
II. Articles for Selectmen to present: with respect to the recent
resignation of James Haggerty as selectman, board members were
assigned articles to present as follows: Article 4 - Murdoch;
Article 8 - Jones; Article 12 - Flynn; Article 16 - Kuchinski;
Article 18 - Murdoch.
III. Memorandum of Agreement with the Clerical Union: the content
of the agreement was reviewed - two library technicians, one aide
and one administrative assistant at the senior center would, upon
signing the memo, be part of the union. The Youth Services
Librarian position would not be covered by the Union. Motion
10/7/96.1: move to sign the agreement with the ASFME 93 Union,
local 1700 Clerical unit. Motion made by Murdoch with second by
Jones. Motion carried 4-0.
III. Article 16 for the Warrant: Kuchinski informed the Board
that Mr. and Mrs. Quinn have executed a promise to grant easement
on Partridge/Tavern Waye area. This would allow Town Meeting to
pass over this eminent domain article. Motion 10/7/96.2: move
to Pass Over this article at Town Meeting. Motion made by
Murdoch with second by Jones. Motion carried 4-0.
IV. Adjournment: Motion 10/7/96.3: move to adjourn. Motion made
by Jones with second by Flynn. Motion carried 4-0. Adjourned at
7:20pm.
